El Salvador: Measures to Expedite Customs Formalities

Simplification of the import process in Acajutla and a reduction in delivery times of goods for export are part of the changes announced by the Ministry of Finance.

The Ministry of Finance, through the Directorate General of Customs, announces the implementation of measures that will improve the flow of goods, transit and people and in turn, reduce the time it takes to carry out procedures for Salvadoran exports, all in order to decongest borders and make controls more agile:

Improving Road Infrastructure

Processes started in 2014 to improve road conditions, infrastructure and processing times at the Customs offices in La Hachadura, thanks to the work of ground leveling, paving, signage and road realignment, have resulted in a considerable reduction in lines and have made land transport quicker.

"Having adequate road infrastructure and reliable processes and agile clearance of goods and transit" is one of the objectives to benefit users and employees, who make use of the Customs offices in La Hachadura every day, according to the Customs director Carlos Cativo.
