El Salvador Independence Day 2013

On September 15th, 2013 the Consul participated in the celebration of Independence Day at the military base of Miguel Cervantes in South Lebanon in the presence of Brigadier General Fernando Lopez del Pozo, Deputy Commander of Brigade XII, Chief of Staff of BRILIB XIX, officers, special guests, and of course, Colonel Juan Fernando Molina Membreño, Commander of the Salvadoran Contingent.

During the reception, the Consul was handed over a commemorative plate from Commander Molina for his support to the 8th Salvadoran Contingent.

After the ceremony, a banquet was offered at the base. During the reception, the Consul delivered a brief speech in which he praised the role of the Founding Fathers headed by Jose Matias Delgado. He then highlighted the resilience, the collective spirit and the hard work of the Salvadoran people who made out of their country a model of democracy in the region. He concluded that the presence of the Salvadoran Contingent since 2008 in southern Lebanon was the living proof of the bonds of friendship between El Salvador and Lebanon .
