El Salvador Plans to Invest $45 million in Solar Energy

The company's president, Abraham Bichara, told Elmundo.sv that "... there will be three modules of 10 MW each in which we are investing at least $45 million, at $1.5 million per megawatt, and we have already identified the land. "
The new 2.5 MW plant which has been operating in Moncagua since 19 October is "... part of a new line of business for AES Solutions, the company aims to develop distributed generation projects (also called solar farms) which are connected to the electric power distribution network and are installed at points close to the consumer. "
Elsalvador.com reports that "... According to the plant´s manager, Luis Perez, the project has more than 8000 panels installed with a capacity of 310 watts per panel. "
