The Embassy of Spain in Lebanon and the Cervantes Institute in Beirut in collaboration with the
Metropolis Association and the Embassies of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico,
Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela, in addition to the Consulates of El Salvador, Portugal and Peru
presented the 4th edition of the Ibero-American Film Festival “Otras Miradas” or Other Views. The
festival is an annual event featuring the best recent cinema from Latin America, Spain and
Portugal. It is aimed at broadening the cultural horizons of Lebanese viewers.

The 4th edition was held at the cinema Metropolis Empire Sofil between the 31st of October and 8th of November 2013 with a broad selection of eleven (11) feature films presenting the Lebanese public the cultural identities of the Ibero-American world.

The Honorary Consulate presented the fiction movie “El Cadaver Exquisito” by Victor Ruano, which had a great success.

The Consul made an eight (8) minute presentation in English about El Salvador, the Salvadoran film industry, the director and producer and, lastly the movie itself. This was followed by a video country presentation “El Salvador: Impresionante” and then the film itself.
