Celebration on the Occasion of 70th birthday of Lebanese – Russian Diplomatic Relations

On the occasion of the 70th birthday of diplomatic relations between Russia and Lebanon, the Embassy of the Russian Federation and the Lebanese – Russian Friendship Association organized at UNESCO in Beirut a celebration under the patronage of Mr. Gebran Bassil, the Lebanese Foreign Minister and the presence of Mr. Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister.

After the speech delivered by Messrs Bassil, the Russian Ambassador Alexander Zasypkin and Bogdanov, a Russian and a Lebanese folk dance groups performed traditional songs and dances.

Among invited guests were clergymen, ministers, deputies, general-directors, high-ranking military personnel, diplomats and a crowd of journalists.

The Consul represented El Salvador and the Patriarch of the Armenian-Catholics at the latter’s request.
